Equipment Shed

2021 | Scouts BSA

For my Eagle Scout Project, I undertook the design, finance, and construction of a large equipment shed for Sunnyvale Little League. With the help of over 20 volunteers from my troop, we spent 136 hours over 3 weekends (with lots of hours in prior planning and preperation) through a global pandemic.

Project Overview

I've been playing Little League since T-Ball at the start of elementary school. Little League introduced me to baseball, and helped me develop as a player, umpire, and fan of the game.

Through my Eagle Scout Project, I was able to give back to this organization and my local park by replacing a worn box of field equipment with a wooden shed made from scratch.

Taking place through a global pandemic, it was extremely important to follow the health policies in place. I am extremely grateful for the generosity of Sunnyvale Lumber for the bulk of the wood required to build the shed. In addition, the project wouldn't be possible without Albert from Sunnyvale Little League and my Scoutmaster, Mr. Hoy for guiding me throughout the entire process.

Results

This project introduced me to drafting and design. I was able to experience how techincal and non-technical skills come together to fundraise, budget, plan, communicate, and execute on blueprints to bring the sketches to life.
